Solar Homes From North To South, East To West

| | Comments (0)

All twenty teams are so busy putting their houses together that there is little time to scope out the competition. Some houses (our friends from Minnesota, we hear) didn't get their house on the Mall until some 36 hours after all the other teams arrived, and another crew (rumored to be Arizona) is still waiting on critical house sections to arrive.

Some houses are technological wonders, sporting glass walls with imbedded solar cells or even wrapping all four sides of their building with shiny photovoltaics. On the other extreme is a rustic structure seemingly made up of three very large, round corrugated water tanks.

We'll have photos of that one soon, but right now we'd like to salute our neighbors from across the great Mississippi. The Illini brought in a structure that most Americans would simply love to have in their neighborhood.

No, not that one. That's the Museum of Natural History.

Yeah, that's right, the one at the bottom.
